How Does this Delicious Detox Tea Make Your Skin Glow?

There are 5 ingredients in this tea, and each one supports skin health. Here’s how:

Lemon

Lemons and lemon juice are known natural skin enhancers. They support healthy skin and anti-aging with strong antioxidants.

Every day you live, free radicals build up in your body from the many chemical reactions that take place in it. These harmful compounds can accumulate in your skin as well.

Studies show that free radical build-up can contribute to aging skin, which results in wrinkles, age spots, dryness, and loss of elasticity. Antioxidants like those in lemons can improve these conditions both from the outside in and the inside out (1).

In fact, studies have shown that those who suffer from severe blemishes often have a high level of oxidative stress and free radicals in the body (2).

Ginger

Another culprit of skin damage and aging is inflammation. Like free radicals, inflammation can build up every day. As it builds, it can lead to damage and aging in our cells.

Strong anti-inflammatory compounds can help you fight back.

Ginger is a potent anti-inflammatory food. In fact, animal studies have found that compounds in ginger and turmeric can improve skin healing, elasticity, and collagen production via anti-inflammatory mechanisms (3).

Greens & Chlorophyll

Like other parts of your body, your skin greatly benefits from detox. In fact, your skin is one of the primary detox organs of the body.

Your skin evacuates toxic waste products through sweat. The toxins are soluble in water and form crystals in the body. They are excreted through sweat or uric acid. Unfortunately, many skin problems may be the result of waste products and toxins being cleansed through the skin or an allergic reaction to the toxins (4).

If you suffer from skin irritations, rashes, or more, you may find relief when you detox the body. While the skin may suffer through the process, it may become much healthier thereafter.

Greens and Chlorophyll provide wonderful nutrients for skin detox. They contain substances that support blood flow and health, oxygenation, and energy levels. Chlorophyll works similarly to hemoglobin in the body, except it carries magnesium instead of iron (16). This helps it promote oxygenation to skin cells. It also has a strong alkalizing effect on the body and improves blood pH, which supports whole-body detox.

You can help your skin glow by detoxing throughout each year and consuming skin-building nutrients to support its health and glow. Use a fermented green powder product with chlorophyll, such as Divine Health Fermented Green Supremefood® (10 USDA Organic greens and 4 vegetables). It’s easy to add it to your daily routine for glowing skin!

Spring Water

Of the many substances on Earth that promote skin health, pure spring or alkaline water may be the best. It’s a fantastic anti-aging drink! There’s little doubt, adequate hydration can improve energy, health, and the condition and appearance of your skin.

In fact, one recent study showed that increasing water consumption by 2 liters per day improved skin condition and physiology, even in those who already consumed high amounts of water. The researchers concluded that this increase and improvement in skin health would likely have the most positive effect on those with lower daily water consumption (5).

Make sure to use pure alkaline or spring water for skin glow and detox, as tainted sources can actually add to your body and skin’s toxin load.

Hydrolyzed Collagen

Hydrolyzed collagen powder is a supplemental powder derived from the bones, hooves, skin, ligaments, and tendons of animals. While it may not sound appetizing, its unique amino acids can work wonders in the human body and skin. In fact, unless you are getting them from broth, hydrolyzed collagen, or actually eating the animal tissues, you are likely missing these amino acids in your modern diet.

This means your skin is missing out.

Hydrolyzed collagen is well-studied, and evidence shows it’s great for skin! The major structural constituents of the matrix outside cells in the skin are collagen, elastic fibers, and hyaluronic acid (6,7,8). Collagen likely makes up >70% of the dry weight of the human skin dermis (9,10).

During recent years, scientists have published the following:

  • A 2018 human study of 64 women found that collagen significantly improved skin-hydration values, visual assessment score and skin wrinkling, and skin elasticity (11).
  • A 2014 study of 46 women ages 35-55, showed 8 weeks of collagen powder supplementation improved skin elasticity within just 4 weeks (12).
  • Another 2014 study concluded collagen supplementation reduced wrinkles after just 8 weeks of use (13).
  • A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology concluded collagen supplementation, not only improved skin moisture but also produced younger-looking, less-fragmented skin (14).
  • In a 2017 lab study, researchers found that 6 months of oral consumption of collagen increased the collagen content in the skin. Collagen also improved the skin structure and improved the density of different types of collagen (Type I and Type III). This resulted in improved color and luster of the skin and fur. While this was a study on mice, it is promising for human skin and hair as well (15).

When buying hydrolyzed collagen, make sure to buy one with types I, II, and III for all the benefits. Try one like Keto Zone Hydrolyzed Chicken Collagen and Marine Powder.
